Across the City

Monsoon had just begun as it was June in the year 2009. In the mid of June, on a particular day as there was no rain that morning, bright sunshine had welcomed the earth. It was good idea to get out of the house and move across the city. It was chill around but the pace at which people were moving around was the same.
As I had just entered the city, I noticed an incident that took place besides me. It was around 10 in the morning, and everyone seemed in a hurry in approaching their respective workplaces. The accident was terrible due to the way it occured. A man ageing around 30 was on his scooter "Eterno". He wasnt that fast, but driving at a modest speed of around 30kmph. I guess it was the oil on the road that led him to swing on the road which resulted in the scooter travelling in the opposite direction. With the swing, the front of the scooter was facing behind and the rear was facing in the front. He just glided with ease as he escaped unhurt maybe due to the control exerted by him.
As I kept walking, the moment when I actually wanted to crossover the main road to go the other side, I had to halt for around 5-10 minutes. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry with their intention of occupying the road as much as possible in getting ahead of the other. Later I managed to get through.
I purchased few refills for my pens as I have a huge collection of various varieties of pens. My next destination was the Central Library where I go very often. Various kinds of books are available in the Library ranging from Magazines, Story Books, Newspapers, Novels, etc.
I mostly read Auto Magazines, Technology related books, Art, etc.
I find reading in the library is a very much effective. As I left the library I saw a old man riding a cycle. He must be around 80 years of age. To my surprise was his athletic behavior as he didn't look old at all. I got a good realization of life at 80.
As usual I moved to Don Bosco where I had done my graduation. I missed all my friends there as mainly due to I met my juniors but my none of classmates had visited on that day.
But I did not loose the opportunity to shoot Basketball into the basket. I never miss my first shot as it went in with great accuracy. I played a small Table Tennis match wherein I focused on improving my ace shots.
I then went to the Ice Cream shop as the climate was getting humid and I too was sweating badly. On leaving the place, I boarded the city bus to travel back to the KTC. It was almost 1 in the afternoon. Many school children were seen in the City as those were the initial days of the school. There were few who either smiled at me or waved their hand to me. We knew each mainly because we travelled together in the same bus.
On getting down at my stop, on the way I realised all the events that took place that morning.

Shopping in the Rain!!!!

In this year 2009, my experience was terrible to start off the rainy season. It so happened that my tenant who is a geologist in SESA wanted to but shirts for himself, so we decided to visit shops in Mapusa. Before leaving for Mapusa, my mother had alarmed me about heavy rainfall in the first week of June. It was 5th of June, it was raining heavily and my tenant decided to leave from our residence as the rain stops. As the rain stopped, he got dressed up to leave. But, I was convincing myself in going despite the climatic conditions. In a brisk of a moment I got dressed up and set to leave with him.
Initially, it was not raining, but on reaching Mapusa, rain started pouring in. We managed to reach to a shop where we got to see good shirts, few branded but they were lacking quality. He purchased one and we moved across to another. After waiting under a shade that was made for a shop we moved across to check in another shop. One of my MCA classmate was residing there. Luckily we met him on the way as he was going out to play football. He informed us about the shop being closed permanently. We than had to walk along the whole way back. Again the same place we halted for shelter. Suprisingly we were standing out of my friends shop. His mother welcomed us and informed us about the carious shops in Mapusa.
This time around when the rain had pulled down a little bit, we marched onto the branded company shops which were located few kilometeres ahead. On the way as it was drizzling slightly we had problem in walking as there were many potholes alongside the road. By the time we reached John Players were were half wet. On entering in, we had almost dirtied their beautiful clean floor. but none was to b blamed. We purchased some shirts and then we moved across to POSHAK, our last visit. On the entrance there I met my relatives who were suprised to see me there. They were asking for my parents as mostly we move together. We continued shopping there. On the other hand rain played total spoilsport but this time we were enjoying inside. We spent almost 3 hours in POSHAK by checking out almost all shirts and trousers there.
The amount that my tenant had planned to spent in shopping was conviniently used. Thereafter, it was 7 in the evening and we were about to leave. Heavy rain did not allow us to move freely across to the bus stop. We were hungry as we were just involved in shopping for hours. On watching a hotel nearby, we just rushed in the like small kids. As it was rainning outside heavily it was very cold enough, my friend wanted to tryout some icecream but since I refused he didn't prefer eating alone. We were served with hot cofee alongwith chole masala. The manager of the hotel was one of my known friends, and he made sure that we were attended properly.
In approaching the bus stand, we had to crossover the market. It was extremely dirty there. Water level was increasing there may be due to uneveness in the market. We escaped from the market manageably. While returning home we boarded a local bus. Initially it was empty, but as the passengers started crowding in life turned out to be worst in the bus. We were very well places but there were people with wet raincoats and umberllas.
As we were approaching our stop in Porvorim, we had a good chat among ourselves discussing all basic thoughts that go around in our life. My tennat is well skilled and he likes to share his views openly. He is a truly perfect guy with years of valuable experience!!!
